The FishLips Sushi Truck outside of ATOMIC.

The FishLips Sushi Truck outside of ATOMIC.

Great sushi can be hard to come by, even in Southern California.  Great sushi made to order while you’re dancing – that just sounds almost impossible.

Not for The FishLips Sushi Truck.  Judging by the number of people who were going back for seconds and thirds (and by my own tasting) it’s delicious.  But the biggest question they’re always asked is how fresh their fish is.  Because they run a truck and not a restaurant, their storage capabilities are much smaller, so they go to the fish market several times a week.  This ensures that their fish is fresh every time, all the time, and since they’ve been in business for over a year, their customers agree – it’s delish.

The Fish Lips truck originally started out as a restaurant idea, but because of the economy they weren’t sure that they

could compete.  The owners love sushi, noticing the popularity of food trucks, decided that a sushi truck was just what they needed.  Their most popular rolls include the spicy tuna roll and their crunchy roll, and they don’t use any mayonnaise as a filler, leaving more room for that delicious fish.

When not making their rounds at the ATOMIC Ballroom The FishLips Sushi truck can be found mostly in West Los Angeles, and The Market Corner on Abbot Kinney in Venice now carries their sushi exclusively.  You can find more information about them on their website.
