As fall approaches, so does the festive fun of Atomic Ballroom’s Student Showcase. On Saturday, September 19th and Saturday, September 26th, this annual event is a special treat where students pair up with their favorite partner or teacher for a full fledged Broadway style theatrical production.

Held at the Curtis theater in Brea, participants will have the privilege of performing in a full fledged production with professional stage crew and theater staff, cutting-edge sound and lighting and top of the line music editing. There will be a professional photographer and videographer who will edit the videos for online viewing. Performers will also enjoy a Broadway style dressing room and green room filled with tasty snacks, as well as a consultation with a showcase producer, for the complete theater experience. (They will even have full tech and dress rehearsals with dinner, just before/leading up to the showcase).

This years theme Celebrate the Magic, is a tribute to the magical world of Disney. Instructors and students have chosen songs from Disney movies, theatrical productions and theme park attractions to perform to. They have been working hard rehearsing for months preparing original choreography, and selecting special themed costumes {all} to showcase their talents while inspiring others, and showing what can be achieved with a lot of hard work, sweat and dedication.

The show will begin with an opening group number and end with an after party for teachers, family and friends, complete with hors d’oeuvres and social dancing on stage. Not only is the showcase spread over two weekends, but there are also matinee and evening shows for your viewing convenience. For costs and further details, just inquire at the front desk, or ask any Atomic instructor/staff member.

Invite some friends and come cheer on fellow students, staff and friends; if you don’t know any of the performers, you’ll still be thoroughly entertained watching this sea of talent come together / to life for your viewing pleasure.
