In honor of President’s Day, and the no holds bar 2016 Presidential Caucuses in full swing, let’s have a look at the (rarely seen) lighter side of politics.

Regardless of which side of the political fence you are on, one thing that can be agreed upon is that these politicians dancing (some with reckless abandon) certainly lightens up a room, and reminds us that even in the high stakes world of political affairs, that it’s OK to take a moment to shake and sweat your stresses away on the dance… or political floor!

Here are some of the most memorable moments of Presidents and other world leaders dancing like no one is watching… along with a few that you might want to forget and permanently erase from your mind after viewing.

Former U.S. President George W. Bush dances and drums enthusiastically with a popular West African dance group.

Former Russian President Boris Yeltsin dances his heart out like a kid on Christmas day. Unlike Russia’s current President Vladimir Putin, Yeltsin became known for such public displays.

Britain’s Prince Charles learns to break-dance with a group of young street dancers. Seriously!

Karl Rove (a.k.a M.C. Rove) raps and dances at Correspondents’ Assn. dinner.
So this is what really takes place at those swanky political dinners… who would have thought?

President Obama and The First Lady Michelle Obama work up a serious sweat doing traditional Indian dances with a group of children. I know from experience that this high impact style of dancing is no walk in the park and will leave anyone drenched in a pool of sweat. Kudos to them for squeezing in an impromptu, sweaty aerobics session when clearly unprepared for it. This shows what great sports they are – both literally and figuratively!

Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner literally dances like no one is watching, during a political rally.

Hilary Clinton gets down with community leaders and other locals in Johannesburg, South Africa.

During a political rally, former President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez lets loose to merengue music as if he was warming up for a Zumba class!

Michelle Obama joins So You Think You Can Dance alumni at the White House Easter Egg Roll for her initiative to get America moving. This official routine choreographed to the dance anthem of the year, Uptown Funk, had everyone on their feet from sea to shining sea.

Nikolal Fedorov Pres. of d/u Chuvashia, Russian Federation, does an energetic dances that looks like something is about to burst from within! He moves with reckless abandon to music you would hear in an underground rave club, packed with teenagers waving glowing glow sticks.

As these current and former world leaders have shown, even with the weight of the world on their shoulders, sometimes taking a moment to shake it off by literally shaking their bodies to music can put things into perspective… or at least put a lot of smiles on countless faces.
