We often hear of father-daughter dances during weddings and even at some school functions, but minimal coverage would suggest that mother-daughter dances don’t seem to be as common place.

This isn’t the case for a special group in Albany, Georgia led by organizer Adaciously Made. Made’s group hosts an annual mother-daughter dance every Mother’s Day, with this year being no exception. Now in its fifth year, this years mermaid themed Mother-daughter ball was held at the Flint Riverquarium to a room full of smiling faces.

Made states that the event is about bonding together for family and fun, while striving to continually impact the community positively.

Covered by local station WALB, the mothers and daughters were able to get their message of togetherness and community out to the nation, hopefully inspiring other like events.

Since dancing has been shown to increase connection and bonding, could there be a better way to spend Mother’s Day than closely connecting with the person who brought us into the world.
